Keep medical card/travel pass return to work disability allowance

Hi

I am on disability allowance and will be returning to work. I will be stopping my payment as ill be earning over the limit, I heard I might be able to keep my medical card/travel pass for a bit, but have got conflicting info.

I found this https://www.gov.ie/en/service/4c7204-make-work-pay/#how-to-qualify but I don't understand what I need to do

If you are returning to full-time or part-time work, you can keep your medical card for 3 years provided you have been getting a full-rate payment for 12 months+

Under the Make Work Pay initiative, if you move from a long-term disability payment to a job, you can keep your FTP for 5 years, provided you a PSC.

Thank you so much !!! Do you know what I need do to apply for an extension ? I have been on DA for over a year , and both cards expire early 2021. When I went to social welfare office today they said I had to write a letter saying I want to come off disability and that my travel pass would then be stopped and the medical card was up to the HSE.

I don't know. I'd say you have to notify both and point out your entitlement under the 'make work pay' initiative

HSE have a medical card phone/email
DEASP have a FTP section with phone/email
