May God help me trying this in AH, but I'm not sure where else to ask on Boards*

I keep waking up with a stiff neck and shoulder in the past while from a not so great pillow

Looking for recommendations for a great pillow to help alleviate it and Amazon has so, so many options that it's getting confusing

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

(*I fully expect some answers like "Yore Ma has the best pillows", but hopefully there's some helpful ones too)

Probably best to try sleeping without a pillow.

If you're anywhere near Monaghan, the Silver Hill duck people have down pillows in their shop in Emyvale which are absolutely fabulous, I can highly recommend them.

Not cheap, but really really comfy, and supportive as well.

    Doesn't help unfortunately

Memory foam pillows seem to be the way to go. But there's literally over a hundred choices on Amazon alone

Harvey Norman used to do a pillow fitting service thing, not sure if they still do it. I went to them when I was suffering from head, neck and shoulder pains after waking up. Seems to work for me. The pillow I got was something like €70 or €80.

If you are around Dublin try pop into the back shop and chat with them there and see if they can recommend a suitable a suitable pillow.

    It's possible you may just need a massage/physio, it's probably a knot .

    Best of luck with it

Best not to sleep at all with a sore neck.
Try dozing a few times a day while standing up, just like a horse!
Though make sure to have your back against a wall in order to prevent yourself from falling backwards and damaging your sore neck.

Falling forward onto your face shouldn't be a problem if you strategically place pillows and cushions on the floor in front of you, so if you do happen to collapse from exhaustion, you'll land on the pillows and cushions and hopefully stay on the floor sleeping deeply with only minor concussion and a few cuts and bruises.

    Sweet dreams.

A high quality sleeping bag one quarter filled with Maltesers.
Remember to change the Maltesers now and then or you may end up with an ant problem and insect larvae in your brain.

I’ve had chronic shoulder pain for years, the cause of many sleepless nights. I was advised by a physio to sleep with 2 pillows to support my neck.
I bought this one a couple of months ago & it’s definitely helped:
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07PXMGYJS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_h6PvFbCV9FM9X
I use it along with a second softer pillow on top.
    Good luck!

Hi OP, i had the same problem, right now Amazon is definitely the best bet for small buys like this, it can be confusing but it helps to filter by retailers in the side menu, there's a very reasonable range called Yore Ma with different pillow density, feather count etc. all customisable that ship to Ireland in about 4 days and you can buy multiples. Best of luck.

Try using a pillow vertically rather than horizontally. It works for me. Also one of those stuffed collars ( sorry; hope you can understand what I mean!)

I took a punt on this in Ikea a few weeks ago that seems to be seeing me right.
