Thinking of getting a lad in to lick some rushes with a weed licker. What's the best product to get to kill the rushes. Thanks

Roundup, or any other glyphosphate based product.

Use roundup here & depending on which field I'm doing & rush strength, I change around the dilution rate, most times around 1:15 here.
There's rarely much written on the labels about weed lickers but always worth checking, Usually says something stupidly concentrated which would burn all around you.

I noticed the lack of info the label. I wonder what’s the correct application rate, for the paperwork?
What would you increase the dilution rate up to in a heavy crop of rushes?

There's different thicknesses with carpet licks & bristles etc so there's no one set rate. Think the Biactive one is so vague it just says something like don't go under 1:2 dilution or something bizarre like that.
We just had to learn ours through a bit of trial & error & stay between 1:10 & 1:15 most of the time. Personally prefer to lick from both angles if the rush is heavier than normal regrowth, instead of changing the dilution much. So I'd go once from left & once from right. Get a nice even coverage that way, just takes double the time.
Never done heavy crops of rush, always cut if they're really bad & then lick the young growth.

I've successfully killed about a quarter of a acre a few years ago and they haven't come back. I hired a weed licker for the day. I was advised to add washing up liquid to the mix as a sticker, it makes the solution stick better to the rush. Don't add the washing up liquid until you have filled the tank otherwise it will foam up and you will have bubbles everywhere. As Lady H said above, lick the rushes both directions if you can.

For a good kill roundup is the best .
    30.1 to 40.1.
If you put it out too strong it will just burn the leaves and not get to the root.
A weaker mix will get to the roots

Roundup. Got it done earlier this year on a field that was bad with them. Serious job. Not a rush in sight

When docs have got to a stage you can get them with a weed licker it’s too late
