152 Peugot 206 engine

An elderly relative has been advised that CO2 is building up in the engine of her 152 (petrol) Peugot 206 and that it indicates a new engine will be needed if it gets worse.

Maybe in 3 months, maybe in 3 years.
The mechanic that warned her wouldn't stand to gain personally and is a friend of a friend.

She doesn't do big mileage every year (<10,000kms) but they could be hard miles on the car. (eg she has been known to drive 40km home with the handbrake on)
She does get the car serviced at the correct intervals.
So I'm thinking that 5 years may not be an unreasonable engine lifespan in this scenario?

    Co2, really?

    Go to a main dealer.

'CO2' was what my brother said to me.
During the same conversation he told me that another relative's 'pilates' were low so they're back in with their oncologiest.

So it may not have been CO2 that the mechanic said to my aunt.
I'm 2 degrees of chinese whisper separation away unfortunately.

What I am certain of, is that the mechanic warned her in good faith that the engine could give up.

Sounds like he's building pressure head gasket

    It's a Peugeot 208, I presume. The 206 went out of production in 2006.

You're correct. I'm getting it confused with the 206 she had before.

The engine could be burning oil. The main reason for this is piston damage.

I'd say he was talking about carbon build up.

Agreed. Although there's too many confusions/questions so I'd suggest a main dealer and get a diagnosis and quote for any repairs.

Co2 is a gas it does not build up
I do not think he's a mechanic he sounds like con artist
Was he the one that did oil changes you can pressure test engine to see what state it's in a 5 year old engine should be perfect. I would bring it some where else and change oil he's probably talking about sludge
    New cars can do
opals at least 300k and toyotas 500k

Opels go for 300k without problems as a minimum?
    Are you high?
