Heard a bang from above. It was plugged into a 4 gang trailing socket strip, protected by a 13A fuse. It tripped a 20A MCB and didn't blow the fuse. Is that normal, or should I replace the fuse anyway?

Not unusual to trip an MCB and not blow the fuse. MCBs are often faster.

Fuse may have been closer to failing than it would be if not exposed to the short duration overload, so could be a little weaker. I would leave it as is myself though, if still working.
