How to fix or fill gaps underneath insulation behind kitchen

    Had some problems with rodents getting in behind the kitchen baseboards. There is a big gap under the insulated drywall (basically you can see the edge between the floor and external wall), and Ive been recommended to get it filled or sealed. What should be used here? Should expanding foam do it or would you need some sort of cement filler? Pretty clueless and need to direct someone to do it properly.

    you need to address the rodent issue first.

    Well yes, that's been sorted. This is about closing off potential entry points and generally fixing crappy work by installers.

    Rats/mice will eat through anything really, so you best be sure you have solved that issue.

    Depending on access you could foam it or plaster it or both. (foam then skim/plaster)

    Can you reach in there easily? If it is really a gap in the insulation, it is also a gap in the air tightness layer and expanding foam is not the ideal for sealing it.although might help to fill it bit.
