First mountain-top finish of this tour coming on day 4, should see a shake-up at the top end of the GC. As there is uncertainty on what will happen if there are positive covid tests and the race getting stopped, expect the big teams and gc guys to be at the forefront (even if they are saying they wont be).

Based on that, i guess a break going up the road to snaff the early mountain points before it coming back together on/before the last climb. Odds seem to indicate same with Roglic favourite and the other GC guys prominent

    Odds
    Roglic 5/1
    Alaphillipe 5/1
    Yates 8/1
    Pogacer 11/1

I'm having a ew punt on Landa at 80/1, bahrain seem busy so far and he is usually there or thereabouts. Also, Sam should really get up the road in a break for the intermediate sprint, only 5 points behind Sagan in that competition. May have to do it alone though, as the rest of Quickstep will no doubt be protecting JA

The last climb is about speed.....Yates or Carapaz or Roglic fromGC guys

But fancy the breakaway ...Dan Martin should give it a go

Bernal to go for it today. Ineos won't want to risk a "shortened tour due to Covid" so will want their man leading early.

Breakaway has formed... 6 riders - no Sagan, Sam or Kristoff

7th place at the intermediate sprint is worth 9 points.
8th place is 8 points, 9th place is 7 points, 10th place is 6 points etc...

If Sam was 7th, Sagan would have to be 13th and Kristoff 11th for Sam to take green.
(I don't know what happens if they are tied on points)

nice few points for sam in the sprint

    Sam 7th
    Sagan 12th
    Kristoff 13th

    I think

So I think Sam and Sagan are both on 83 points

I think that puts Sam in "virtual" green for now as he has better stage finishes to his name

    7. S. Bennett 43 DQT 9 PTS
    8. M. Mørkøv 48 DQT 8 PTS
    9. M. Trentin 117 CCC 7 PTS
    10. B. Coquard 211 BVC 6 PTS
    11. G. Nizzolo 191 NTT 5 PTS
    12. P. Sagan 21 BOH 4 PTS
    13. A. Kristoff 135 UAD 3 PTS

    SAGAN 79 + 4 = 83
    KRISTOFF 77 + 3 = 80
    BENNETT 74 + 9 = 83

Think Bennett may be in Green based on finishing positions (4/168/2 vs 5/108/5 for Sagan)

    PCS are showing Sagan still

    Seven Worlds will Collide

    PCS are showing Sagan still

Sagan about 10min ahead on GC could be why. Could change hands tomorrow though.

    From the Official rule book:
If riders are equal on points in this classification, they are separated by their number of stage wins and then by their number of wins in the intermediate sprints that count towards the points classification, and, finally, by their ranking in the general classification.

    https://netstorage.lequipe.fr/ASO/cycling_tdf/tdf20-reglement-fruk-bd.pdf

So neither of them have won a stage or an intermediate sprint.

Sagan is 81st in GC and Sam is 142nd; so Sagan keeps green (as happytramp alluded to)

I’d say Carlton nearly choked on his afternoon tea when Seán came out with it!! :):)

    From CN:

    13:52:39 BST
    103KM TO GO
Bennet hit 70kph in that intermediate sprint after jumping from Michael Mørkøv's wheel. It was a fast one.

Tim "El Tractor" Declercq doing the damage?

I know they are getting it in their ear to mention it but the constant plugging of racepass is grating at this stage.

Think so, yeah. They've called it a day for the time being. I clicked off the coverage and when I went back the Quicksteppers were gone and there were 7 or 8 teams spread across the road instead. Strange.

I think so, proper scary spot for it to break

Literally, seeing as he arse-surfed along the top of that metal barrier.
