Only retailer I can seem to source it in is Iceland which is not near me.

it is not great, it is sold in the Asian shop in stillorgan between Baumanns hardware and the blood bank/clinic.

It is ready sliced but not thin enough for my liking.

A chipper near me used to have a big tub of ready sliced meat, it was Sultan brand and better than the Iceland one. You'd have to buy a bit 15L size drum of the stuff.

I have made my own and it came out great. The link to the recipe is good, I would however add cumin to the mixture, they only add it to the chicken recipe for some reason. Cumin was the key for me, I had made several mixtures and it was like something was just missing and this was it (for me). I remember microwaving it in work and a lad came in an just says "DONER KEBABS!" without seeing it, pure smell, so I knew I had got it right! as its not something you would easily guess or expect.

I have also just put the spices into mince and worked it well and fried it as burgers and then chop it up.

Lidl have it sporadically. - I think its in their Greek range.

Usually they have a Greek week in September.

It's delicious! I mix the lamb mince with pork mince to keep the price down.

+1 on this, I once bought a bag of the Iceland stuff as a shortcut for the kebab recipe on the cooking club forum. Had made the salads, sauces and bread from scratch and was looking forward to it but the Iceland kebab meat was a bad mistake. It was ridiculousy fatty and parts of it were like a jelly fat,I actaully felt like if I had one more bite I would get sick. It was absolutely manky stuff and the kebabs went in the bin :mad:
