settlement agreement in writing

I know this is a long shot but wondering if anyone has any imput on this strange issue.
I am having a real estate legal issue in the USA (am US citizen but residing here now). Was heading for court, but had a mediation via telephone (covid...no travel) I was advised to settle by the 'judge', he was very biased to the other party, he told me if it went to court I would have to pay the other partys legal fees, (since found out unless its written in the statute I wouldn't be liable). My lawyer told me the same.
My own lawyer told me to settle, then told me if I settled there and then he would write off his legal fees and just charge 1k out of 8k....weird or what, anyway I agreed to settle, and asked for the settlement agreement in writing before I would give my lawyer the relevant paperwork to settle the case, she needs papers regarding the property involved in the case.
My lawyer is demanding the paperwork to finalise stuff, ive asked for written agreement stating agreement, she then said she would petition the court to force settlement without the paperwork. Again I asked for it in writing and now she is threatening to remove herself from the case.
in the meanwhile the other party has court date lined up for later in the year, despite me agreeing to settle the matter. other sides lawyer is a real bully.
its all beginning to sound very suspect, its like my lawyer is working for the other side, and they are paying him if hes writing off most of his fee.
The whole case was based on an oral agreement that the other party will not honour and he is bringing the case against me.
    Hope this is making sense
