Hi everyone. I made two payments to someone through the friends and family option both €15 euro each. I sent it to the wrong person both times so i cancelled the payment. The only thing is it says refunded on the status of it however i have not received any money into my paypal balance or into my AIB account.

I'd advise you to ask Paypal directly the status of these refunds.

    How long ago was this?

When were the payments made/cancelled? It can take a while to appear in your account.

Friends and family option has no upside for the sender. The receiver avoids fees, and the sender abdicates many of PayPal’s own protections.

At €30 it might be a cheap lesson learned?

I expect so but it may take some time....

I made a payment to someone in another country at the beginning of July and it only came back on the last day of August!

It is not the same situation though, but it did come back eventually. They guy was tricker happy and rejected the payment without reading what he was rejecting

It'll take more than 2 days for a refund, especially over a weekend.
