Solicitor not answering

I agreed on settlement, about 8 weeks ago now for personal injury. Sent over relevant paperwork, bank account where money is to go in to and received bill for solicitors and what I will receive in my account after fees.
I realised about 3 weeks ago there was no sign of money or anything really since the settlement. It went quiet. So I emailed about that time and asked where was money and why it has been delayed or is there something wrong with paper work.
Solicitor responded that money is not with them and that their secretary will chase it up, that day and will have answer for me tomarrow.
I didn't hear off them again for another week and half, so emailed again. This time no answer..........
What do I do now? Is this normal process?

It does sound a bit slow, however a lot of people will be away for August.

Ring them. If they are not available to take the call ask to speak to the secretary who was to chase it up.
