    Hi all.

Total newb here. Looking for a tree or similar for screening back garden from neighbours. Attached photo of neighbours window looking down in our garden that I want to block out. Small area below for planting. Would greatly appreciate any advice.

Something like a clumping bamboo or a fast-growing evergreen shrub like Red Robin or laurel maybe? Many of the evergreen conifers are quite slow-growing but some other suitable deciduous trees include Lime trees, multistem betula jacquemontii, columnar hornbeam.. best of luck with it!

We had this very same issue and went with golden bamboo. Planted it last year and it's amazing the difference it's made. As the previous poster said it's important that it's clumping rather than running bamboo. Otherwise it will be popping up everywhere.
