Definitely a different feel to the air today. The brief periods of sun it feels that bit lower and cooler. My favourite season tbh. Love the fresh crisp mornings, the colours and crunch of leaves underfoot, orange and pink tinted sunsets.

    What's your favourite season?

Spring and autumn are my favourites.

Spring is nice and cool with longer brighter evenings. Much the same with autumn except shorter evenings.

Summer is too hot and winter is too long, dark and miserable.

Ye cant have one without the others. You wouldnt get that nice warm feeling from the summer sun if you didnt have the winter before it for contrast.

Life is ups and downs and contrasts. As soon as its the same and boring, thats when mad stuff happens and people start having mad self destructive ideas.

We are animals designed to starve and feast, cut and bulk, not nip and tuck and park and glug.

You will never stop the other seasons op, autumn forever never.

Had to wear a bodywarmer mowing the lawn yesterday evening, so autumn is upon us.

Summer and winter are my favourites with rhe other 2 being a bit meh. Summer because you can get out and do things without being muffled up, winter because I like to be snuggled inside while its cold outside, and winter brings Christmas.

Winter. I love Winter. I've started going to the gym again so the weather's a bit of a pain as their showers aren't open yet but still Winter.

But some of the out takes are suppose to be funny, the part were phil hogan got stuck in the nineteenth hole is hilarious I heard

I love all the seasons, but autumn has something special about it

Some people would tell you August is peak Summer, nutcases. Today is August and like last August and the one before there is a chill in the air. Peak Summer is June and July.

    Even May and June.
We have had lovely Mays the last few years.
I can never understand why August is the most popular month for weddings because the weather is so temperamental then.
Or why people holiday in Ireland in August!
Once August 1st hits, I consider summer over.
I always take my summer annual leave before August.

I doesn't really matter when the seasons starts because you could never be surprised what weather you get on any given day. I know people moan about our weather systems, but its not as bad as its made out to be.

The crunch of the leaves under your feet... the wonderful contrasting colours everywhere and that cool crisp air.

And that feeling of death all around you, with everything decaying and falling off... just beautiful! :D:pac:

Autumn for me too. There's a definite freshness in the air today, almost a hint of the smell of frost.

I love the leaves in autumn, the lower humidity, the earlier dusk and Indian summers, where it's lovely during the day but cooler at night. It's easier to dress too, rather than leaving the house in summer clothes with the sun shining and coming home like you've been rescued at sea.

It also means that the end of grass cutting is in sight. :D

Autumn by far is the best season. The cool crisp mornings, the storms, falling leaves, cosy nights! God I love it, then the atmosphere of Halloween!

The feeling when summer is in the air, about 3 or 4 weeks into the long evenings will always fill my heart with happiness. Mid summer is just incredible; we might have poxy weather but taking a walk at 9.45 and it being bright is my happy place.

Me too. I always think the Americans are really missing out on it with their "Fall". I mean "Fall-y" or "Fall-ular" would just sound thick.

The falling leaves drift by my window
The falling leaves of red and gold
I see your lips the summer kisses
The sunburned hands I used to hold.

Since you went away the days grow long. And soon I'll hear old winter's song. But I miss you most of all my darling. When autumn leaves start to fall.

Have a listen, lovely song, if a bit sad :o

The big question - is it too soon to put the winter duvet back on the bed? It's been a bit cooler the past few nights, but as sure as feck, the minute I put the heavy duvet back on we'll get warmer nights again.

    Anyone changed over duvets yet?

When i was a young lad can distinctly remember getting home from Disco at 4.30 am in mid summer and it getting bright and getting up for work again by 7 am and the sun batting in the kitchen window!!!

Far too early yet, Oct/Nov is time enough.

Put a throw on the bed if you find it too cool, it's easy to take off if we get an Indian summer. I find that if I have one over my feet and lower legs I'm warm enough without getting too hot, and can easily kick it off if I get too warm during the night. I'm still OK with the summer duvet, I found that even too warm when we had warm days and humid nights.
