NPHET seem to be calling the shots on their own today, I was under the impression their role was advisory, they do not have any power to make laws or mandates.
We've seen the Government over rule them already, just because the Government have went on holidays surely they can't just take over.

The Government already told pubs the date was the 13th of September. NPHET are not advising bringing that in closer.

Because they're a weak government lead by weak people. They don't seem to be able to take the reign and make the tough decisions, so they've seemingly deferred everything to NPHET. Which wouldn't be a problem if we were only facing an acute health crisis, but the economic effects of the lockdowns are becoming more immediate and dangerous in the long-run than the virus.

Ireland does not have strong leaders. We desperately need some.
