I have made 8 attempts to get through to Eir during my lunch hours but each time i have had to go agter been 45-50 minutes on hold.
I took a day off work Monday and got to speak to someone after 90 minutes (hour and a half!)...they said someone else would contact me within 24/48 hours but nothing since......they just dont seem to care about customers ....any suggestions ??

I have wasted 8 lunch hours and taken a day off work and i still cant get anywhere...

Stop paying your bill and they'll be in contact quite quickly.

Honestly, you are better just writing to them as you will likely have a 30 day cancellation period anyway. My folks had Eir for BB and phone and the BB was diabolical. I set them up with another provider, oul dog wrote a cancellation letter, about 4 weeks later got a letter from them telling her they owed her a few quid from the last bill. Easy peasy.

Is there a standard address on their website to write to ? ... sounds like a plan

    Call the complaints line:

    1. Contact Eir’s customer care department by
    telephone 1800200481
    on-line complaint form https://www.eir.ie/support/online-forms/log-a-complaint/
    or letter
    eir Complaints
    eir Building
    Mount St. Agnes Road
    Churchfield
    Co. Cork

    2. State that you have been advised by ComReg to lodge a complaint
    3. Request details of a unique reference number to identify and track the individual complaint
    4. Give the full details of your complaint

2022 Bianconi Avenue, Citywest Business Campus, Dublin 24 D24 HX03.

Suggest you also keep a dated copy of the letter yourself.

pffft OP, you've only put in eight hours so far trying to get through. Thats just not a good effort when dealing with Eir. You need to get your head down and work harder than this to get through to them.

Take a week off work as your holidays and get started at 9am next Monday morning. If you work full time on this with no lunch breaks you might get it sorted by 5pm Friday icon14.png

I was able to get through to a live person using the chatbot in their website. I think you have to have a web account with them.

Actually, while we're discussing Eir. Does anyone else have crap broadband from them? I'm at download speed of 8 Mbps and upload speed of 0.5 Mbps. This is with an Ethernet cable from The router to my laptop. It's cretinous.

We've been through this process recently, literally just got it sorted this evening.

Your best bet is to apply online to close the account. If that doesn't happen send them a complaint email and if its not resolved in 10 days you can pass it to Comreg.

Worth giving Comreg a call - they're a great organisation and very helpful.

The broadband is crap slow ..... sites not loading etc ..... I’d be as well off using the hotspot from my phone .
Just going to cancel the landline and broadband by writing to them and cancelling direct debit . Can’t get anyone to answer their phone . They really don’t seem to care about the customers
