I own a Lenova Moto G5. I uploaded Covid Tracker on August 6, a couple of weeks ago the battery drained twice overnight but after a 2 full recharges it's ok again. I've recently received that a notice to say bluetooth must be on for tracker to funtion fully. The problem is the phone fails to connect with bluetooth. I've tried reboot also checked the sim which is ok. Otherwise the phone works perfectly.

The covid app doesn't connect to Bluetooth, it just requires that Bluetooth is switched on (it's how it sees who is near you)

Yes but the phone shows "Bluetooth not connected" even when it's in the on mode. I also tried to play a Youtube clip from the phone to Bluetooth speakers & no joy.

The problem may not be connected to Covid Tracker, just coincidence.

The phone's Bluetooth does not platy a Youtube clip through Bluetooth speakers. Covid Tracker installation & problem could be coincidental.

What do you mean by this? Is the problem that you cannot pair your phone and the speakers, or that after you successfully pair them the YouTube video still doesn't play?

The phone will not connect to bluetooth devices. With Bluetooth in the ON positon it shows 'Not connected'.

Open Bluetooth settings, click on previously connected devices, highlight the device in quotation, click the settings cog and remove it. Then pair of again from scratch

But have you paired it to anything? It will show "not connected" if you haven't paired to anything, just like WiFi will show "not connected" if you haven't connected to a WiFi network.

This problem is recent. The phone has always been paired to speakers-Roberts SB1.

So what happens when you go to settings -> connected device -> Bluetooth -> Pair new device (or whatever the equivalent is on your phone)? The speakers don't appear in the list? They appear but they don't pair? They appear, they pair but you can't get them to work?

Did as directed above, "Available devices" with a broken revolving green circle.

Bluetooth on but showing "not connected"

The Roberts SB1 connects to Spotify on my laptop ok.

You need to remove it as a device by telling your phone to forget it and pair it again from scratch. Have you tried this?

Did you press the button on your speakers that makes it discoverable?

Yes. It displayed SB1 but did not connect, notice to say "Could not pair" All the time the phone is showing "Bluetooth not connected" tho' it's in the on position.

I don't have the wherewithall to delete Bluetooth function.

    Thank you.

What do you mean when you keep saying that the phone is saying "Bluetooth not connected"? You mean as a notification? Or it just says it in the quick settings toggle? If the latter, than it's normal, it just means you haven't paired a device yet.

I would try pairing with another Bluetooth device to rule out the issue being with the speakers.

    Notification. I'm not alone:

So it's in the settings rather than a notification?

In developer options, is your Bluetooth AVRCP set to the most recent version?

I don't see developer options but I reset Bluetooth to no avail.

I went into Device Manager on my laptop & found Bluetooth Avrcp was up to date. You will have noticed on the Lenova forum they did not proffer a solution to the 3rd post, just left it hanging. Maybe there is no cure, apart from the Covid Tracker I don't need it.

Give your phone to somebody, you're not able to fix this yourself

If the problem started when you installed the Covid app, try and uninstall it and restart your phone and see how you get on.

No joy.I wont bother reinstalling the app as if I don't have Bluetooth then as a warning device it's useless.
