Click & Go issues

I've been waiting on a cash refund since April for a cancelled holiday with Click&Go. I've consistently told them I wanted a refund and not a voucher. I got an email this week where they issued a government backed voucher and stating they had received most of my money back from their suppliers. I told them I did not want the voucher and instead wanted my money in my account. They then proceeded to tell me under the terms of the voucher that I had to wait an additional 9 months before getting a cash refund from the voucher! I know travel companies are struggling for cash, but when they have my money back from their suppliers, clearly I'm entitled to my money back and I have let them know that.

The guidelines from the government state that the consumer must voluntarily accept the voucher before being issued. Clearly this was not done by them and there are people on other forums where they have tried to fob off other consumers with the same thing.

I'm sure there are several others who have been having issues with Click & Go on getting refunds? They shouldn't be allowed do this. The amount I'm expecting back is not an insignificant amount and will help me through the coming months.

Has anyone managed to get their cash back?

Exactly the same story here - they are actively pushing Aer Lingus Holiday bookings for 2021 already and you can use your voucher to pre-book. However if you read the small print, you can only get a voucher rather than cash if the flight / holiday is cancelled. I booked my initial holiday with Aer Lingus holidays through the Aer Lingus web-site, but ended up with Click & Go - the Provisional wing of Aer Lingus.

The Refund Credit Note must be voluntarily accepted by the customer, and if it is refused then the customer is entitled to a cash refund.

    Send them this: https://www.gov.ie/en/publication/1ae3d-refund-credit-note/

If they refuse, take a case to the Small Claims Court.

Thanks for that - my local small claims court tell me that the back-log is longer than the 9 months.........!
