specifically , whats the shortest time you,ve owned a car and sold on due to not liking it ?

not referring to problems arising mechanically which prompted sale

my brother bought an suv - jeep back in june and both him and his Mrs find it too much of a barge , talking about selling

i thought he was mad as while he didnt buy new , he paid big money as what he bought is simply expensive second hand

i guess selling quickly is sort of ok if you paid very little in the first place

shortest time ive ever owned a car is three years nine months , that said , the Mrs drove it most of the time so it was easy to tolerate

    24 hours.

Sold my Evo 5 in 2007 and bought a Mk4 GTi on the Friday. Traded it in for a V8 X5 the next day!

I could never understand why any person would buy one. They have to be the most boring car on the planet

Bought a 2012 Vauxhall Insignia Sri about 4 years ago. Sold it after a week for a tidy little sum. Horrible car

They have their uses. I had a 99 2.0d corolla van years ago. Had it 2 years, put up 80k miles and did literally nothing with it apart from top up oil and put diesel in it and a couple of sets of tyres. Think I did filters once.
Travelled all over the country in it and it never once faltered.

If someone had said I need you to drive to Eastern Europe and back I'd have jumped into that corolla without a second thought and tipped off with no preparation.

Not the same these days but back then if you wanted something that was going to start every time and keep going you had a diesel corolla/carina.

The older ones were a hell of a lot better than the recent ones targeting the beige brigade

My dad had a 99 Corolla for 8 weeks back in 2000. He had driven Hiaces for years and found the Corolla too low. He replaced it with a 98 Toyota Picnic which he drove for 16 years.

Bizarrely, he now drives an Auris.

    But they are completely reliable.
No matter what. They will start when you turn the key.

A corolla is my 3rd car . The bas.tard has never let me down, now it has never inspired or excited me either.

But, by Christ. It's a a dependable unit.

A 1997 E36 m3 ... was far to aggressive 320 BHP .. no abs ( as far as i can remember) , no traction control , always mad to kill you .. axel tramp in third gear in the wet..
was fun for a while but in the end it was just too mad ...

have a 996.2 now just as quick but a far more relaxed drive .. and doesnt constantly want to kill you

about 17hrs - I once bought a Toyota Cressida because I couldnt face getting the train home. I had gone to Granville in western Sydney to buy a Mazda 929, when I got there the dealer told me it was gone. On my way back to the train station I saw the Cressida for 500 quid, the englishman in the garage opened the bidding by giving me a large whiskey ! I bought it coz I couldnt face the train ride in 40 degree heat back into Sydney.I drove it home, and then realised I'd gone to the wrong garage in the first place. Drove it back to Granville the next morning and when the lad wouldnt take it as a trade, I sold it back to the englishman for 300 before buying the Mazda ( that was some car )

Sold an e39 530i msport automatic in 2008 because it was costing a fortune in tax (1493 euro as far as I remember). And fuel bills. Replaced it with an alfa 156 1.6

Sold the alfa after 3 months and bought a 525i msport (1080 tax). Didn't particularly dislike the alfa. Just missed the e39. To hell with the tax.

VW Scirocco MkII,. Horrible to drive . Myself and my girlfriend at the time thought it looked cool but was awful. Brought it home from London on a Sunday and had it sold by Monday evening.
