I cant remember my pin for my Samsung A5, is there any way of unlocking the phone now? I researched where you can get around the pin but you will lose all the phone data. I don't want this to happen because of phone contacts.

Its an old phone haven't used it in years. Its not registered with my google account so can't unlock it that way.

Why are you concerned about contacts on a phone you haven't used in years. Where have you all your contacts saved to in your current phone?

If you haven't used it in years you probably won't miss whatever data is on it anyway, just wipe it clean

The contacts on my current phone are backed up to google. Wish I had done this a long time ago. My old contacts were stored on my phones so when I broke the phone or in this case get locked out I lose everything. Its nit just the contacts its also family pictures etc.

It doesn't need to be registered to you Google account, just a Samsung account. You may have completely forgotten that you actually have a Samsung account, try the "find ID or reset password" after you click "sign in" in that link and see if it helps.

When I used to break my phones or forget pins I would throw them in to the press. recently I came across a couple of the phones and I want to get contacts and more importantly the pictures of family etc.

What account is it registered with? You must have had at least either a Samsung or Google account registered with it in order to install apps via either the Google Play store or Samsung's equivalent.

The first gen A5 was released in 2015 and the S7 in 2016.
