Studying for hr degree while self employed childminder

Hello I have a background in operations management for an outsourcing company so about six years varied people management experience and some experience in recruitment learning and development and disciplinary ect

Since I lost my job due to Covid I have become a self employed childminder as this was something I had done while raising my own children

I am thinking about doing a degree in hr management by night while I’m childminding with a view to progressing in this area when I return to full time work

Do you think I will be able to pick up this type of work after a few years I’ve no problem starting at the bottom in this field again but what I’m worried about is spending all this money on the degree and then not being able to explain the gap in my cv

The reason I want to continue the childminding while doing the degree is because it is part time and from home and allows me to study at night as I’m not very stressed out from managing a home and working a nine to five

I don't see any problem with it.

You always wanted to work in HR, so you quit your operations management job and went back to college to study HR.

You wanted to be able to continue earning money so you chose to do the degree at night. However you wanted to be able to properly focus on the degree too, so you worked part-time in child minding so you'd have a lot of time for college work.

    ...

I would fully accept this as an employer. However you need to get first class honours otherwise your story loses a lot of its value.

Thanks so much for your reply this is what I’m hoping to achieve will take 3 and a half years..
