    One of the kids needs a laptop for school and I was wondering what you think of the Lenovo Idea pad 3 in power city. I dont have much budget, they need it to type assignments and some schoolwork.

    yes that's ok for the money.

    not a bad option

    the new Athlon Gold cpu's are not the worst.

    on benchmark scores they should run windows fine

    maybe upgrade the 4gb ram to 8gb if it's not soldered in or else just run one program at a time on the machine and cut out un-needed start up programs in windows task manager

    the screen on it is pretty dim but that's the sort of compromise you're going to get at that budget level.

    that screen on your second link is a worse resolution as you can see from the lower numbers.

    you're not going to get much in the way of great screen quality sub 550 to 600 euro (magicbook has a decent enough IPS screen)

    that's the reality

    get the first one and buy the cheap ram upgrade and it will do a decent job
