Well it seems there's nothing that can't be remade. Guess Hollywood is really struggling for ideas these days.

Or have the Hollywood accountants taken full control of the decision making process!

    From Reddit:

"If you’re going to remake a classic, here’s a good idea. Have a point! It makes it much more interesting for the viewer!"

Yeah, this'll be a hard pass as per the course for Hollywood remakes these days.

I'll be avoiding this like the plague. I love the original.

The original will continue to exist, and will likely get a bump in watches / purchases off the remake anyway. Plus, the original? Eh, it's all right. Neither Martin nor Candy's best work IMO but say the word "remake" and I think people immediately get the hackles up :)

"Remake" gets thrown around a lot, when really it's a new movie along the same premise. There was a lot of wailing about the "remake" of Total Recall, but the new movie had only a passing resemblence to the original, which meant they could both stand on their own.

Likewise, I doubt they're going to just rehash the original movie in this one. It'll be an odd-couple-meets-buddy-roadtrip-comedy just like the original and that'll be about the extent of the similarity.

Well either way it's got Kevin Hart in it so won't be rushing out to see it. Just don't rate him as an actor..

I like his partnership with The Rock, Jumanji was enjoyable

I thought Due Date was sort of a remake
