Budget of 1k. Looking for a gaming pc where I can physically walk in and purchase it rather than buying online. Anybody got any recommendations for a PC that would suit me (not a laptop....an actual tower). It'll be mostly games like Rome Total War etc.

You will pay a MASSIVE premium for buying a PC out of the likes of PC World. Any reason why it has to be bricks and mortar store? If it's to support local business I'll tell you now, you're only supporting price gouging

It's not for me (for a friend) and he just wants to be able to go back to the store if something goes wrong basically. Is there a decent tower I can get online instead and perhaps I can persuade him to go online.

Take a look at cclonline. Apparently very reliable.

If he's not building it himself he is getting a €500 PC and €500 is going on the warranty.

If you have to walk in to a physical store and buy it, this is about the only one available in Curry's under 1K that's not poor value, not the worst price all things considered.
