    Hello,
I posted recent about learning to drive and now I’ve landed myself in a bit of a problem.
I tried contacting an instructor locally and it took me a while to get through to him and eventually booked a lesson with him.
I’ve a relative who booked me some lessons as a surprise trying to be nice.
Now years ago this would have been fine but with log books, etc where do I stand ?

I don’t t want to mess people around.

Shouldn't be an issue with the log log book
Must I take all of my 12 EDT sessions with one ADI?
You can choose to change ADI at any point in the EDT programme. It is not a requirement that you complete the EDT programme with one ADI. Once the ADI stamps your logbook upon completion of the session you can move to another ADI for your next session if you so wish.

Just explain to both of them what happen and then choose whichever you are most comfortable with for the remaining lessons

No, The log book belongs to you and should stay with you .. you can have 12 different instructors stamp your book for each of the EDT's .. it doesn't matter

    Ok, thanks.
I was just planning on doing twelve lessons with each instructor.
I feel kind of an ass for mucking them around but I suppose once they get there money they won’t mind.

How many lessons have you booked with each ADI?

I’ve booked one lesson and my relative booked a few and paid for them.

I’ve no issue with doing extra lessons.
I just don’t want to be a twat and waste peoples time.

I did do a few lessons in 2014 and he never gave me a log book.

They wont care, it's up to you how many instructors you use, I was seeing two simultaneously for 6 months as I wasnt getting practice, I just told one that I was doing the 12 lessons with the other instructor and she was going to fill out the log book. I eventually stopped seeing the first instructor after 5 lessons and got a new one to replace her, I did the remaining 7 lessons with her and she filled out the rest of the log book while I was still seeing a second instructor. Im still seeing 2 instructors, both of them once a month.

They are a business not your friend, once you pay for the lessons they give you they will be happy and won't care if you don't come back.

    OP here again.
    Just some quick questions.
    Who provides the log book?
Do they charge for it if they do?
Can you fail a lesson and they don’t sign or off on it?
If so is it common that people may fail/not learn enough in a lesson?

The instructor gives you the log book, you dont pay extra for it but you should hold on to it and bring it to all your lessons.
You cant fail a lesson, its not a test.
Everyone learns differently and at their own pace.

    Thanks.
I was told by somebody that the instructor didn’t mark your log book if they felt that you didn’t meet the standard required for that lesson.
    So, this is incorrect?
