I work for a small business mostly doing AdminIstration. We use a bookkeeping service who records customer and supplier invoices, submits Vat returns and also runs the payroll. My manager has asked would I be interested in taking over what the book-keeping company do , I have access to Quickbooks but I’m not sure how much work is involved and if it would be easy enough for me to pick it up. The Vat returns scare the life out of me to be honest , I have a little accountancy experience and can pick things up fairly quickly but I’m worried that I wouldn’t have enough book-keeling experience to keep things running smoothly. Any input would help.

IMHO Accounting Technicians Ireland provide the best grounding in book keeping. Thats a 2 year course. I dont think anything shorter will allow you to run accounts with confidence.
