Cobrra chain oiler problems

I have two Cobrra Nemo 2 chain oilers and both have now seized in the fully closed (empty) position.

Although I'm confident they'll be replaced by the retailer I don't want to bother with them again if this is a problem that will reoccurr and will ask for a refund instead.

The manufacturer (Cobrra, Slovakia) refuses to tell me if other users are having the same problem. Mind you, the retailer won't answer that question either so I guess this is a problem with them.

Do you have one? What's been your experience with it?

I have one and to date never had an issue with it. Cant see how it would seize. Stick it in the freezer for half an hour and see what happens. Or stick it in a pot of hot water.

Thanks for your input. I've done all that. They've worked flawlessly for almost a year then in the last week both seize. They are locked absolutely solid. I've tried everything.

Have you thought about a Loobman?
You would buy a few for the cost of one Cobrra.
Try a strap wrench on the lid of the Cobrra, the rubber strap variety or a material version like an oil filter tool.

It's not the lid that's seized. It's the body that you screw down incrementally as you oil the chain. The lids are coming off no problem.

Tried oil filter strap without heat, with heat, after an hour in the freezer, after two hours in the freezer. Got permission from the manufacturer to use a heat gun (amazingly didn't damage it). Locked solid, both of them.

Will give the Loobman a look. Thanks for your input.
