Would anyone have a letter template they have used to request their employer continue to allow them work remotely or a letter to apply to work from home on a permanent basis?

    Thank you.

Have you actually discussed it with your employer already?

You should have the conversation in person. You are far more likely to be successful.

Yes, I have spoken with my employer. They want me to put my request in writing.
It's unlikely to be sucessful but I want them to reply to my request in writing.

They're asking you to sell it to them, basically.

You should list reasons that will impact the business positively.

Things like; increased productivity, more flexible on hours since there's no commute, proven track record of doing the job well from home, better work life balance allowing you to be 100% work focussed when at work.

Explain to them what your work set up is like at home, they'll want to see it's without distractions.

I found that suggesting something as temporary is more likely to receive a yes (and then it's proven to work so easier for an extension) vs asking for a permanent change.

"I would like to request to continue to work from home until the end of 2020 because of x, y, z"

Show accountability for your work and the results of doing it from home.

"I expect to increase my productivity by x% by working from home by doing xyz"

I've been working from home myself for years, my company is very remote friendly not in part because it is in their best interest too - make it a win win and it'll be hard for them to refuse.
