    Hi folks,

Expecting our first child towards the end of the year and we are going to change the car as a result. I just have a few questions and looking for some help on what to look at.

Firstly, if I can stretch to waiting till the new year, should I wait so that I might get a slightly better deal if I'm buying second hand or will it not make much difference?

And Secondly, anyone got any recommendations on what to look at? Budget is about €15k plus have a 2009 Audi A3 in very good condition to sell/trade in. We probably only drive the car about 12,000 km a year. Looking at SUVs/Crossovers but open to suggestions.

If you're looking for boot space I'd suggest an estate rather than suv. If worried about lifting in baby and baby seat some say suv is better but it wouldn't bother me lifting, maybe different for smaller people than me though. At that budget, if you like Audi you could get a decent 2015 or so A4 or a6 avant. And then you have cheaper options and come up much further in years to an Octavia, superb estate. I'd start with those suggestions anyway

The a3 should be fine. My sister had 2 kids, and the car they used mostly was a golf. Is there any other reason ye think ye need a change of car?

Do like Audi's but am open to change too. I'll have a look at the A4/A6 as SUV not vital. Bootspace isn't a huge priority as it's only the one bambino and I'd imagine we can fit what we need into most crossovers/saloons. Thanks for help.

Its only a 3 door and herself will be driving it more than me. At the very least, we need a 5 door just for the convenience of getting the baby in and out. Will be sad to let the car go though as its as reliable as they come and a nice car to boot.

Would you consider combining living costs with your motoring and get this:

You’ll get very good value in a Skoda Octavia and it’ll tick all the boxes.

Just bumping this again for thoughts on time of the year to buy and if it even makes a difference?

Also, what are peoples thoughts on the Tuscans? They are everywhere at the moment but at my price range would I get a decent one or should I look at something else?
