Hi, we are looking to floor the attic for storage but plan to fully convert in a few years. What sort of price would it be to install the beams and suspended floor only for now? As a guide, would this be roughly 50% of the full attic conversion costs (with roof windows, plastering and full stairs etc)?

    At least 50% alright.
As you need to make the openings to get the steel up, floor joists up and sure at that stage you then have to repair and make good the holes.

You may also have difficulties with certification if one guy does one bit now, and another in a year or two.

Who is certifying what and who is responsible for what?

We are just at one at the moment.what your talking about is at minimum 50%of total bill.we had a crane lift in our steel beams, and 6 men.all drawings by an engineer. Certified welding on beams....the list goes on
