See a bird in the garden. Very yellowish overall with a strip going along the eye line. Around the same size as a fly catcher. Actually the fly catcher seemed to be playing around with it. Any suggestions as to what it might be. I don't think it was a fly catcher.

    Yellowhammer?
    Wheatear?
A tit or finch eg. siskin?

None of the above. I wonder was it a young fly catcher. It seemed to be too yellow for one. I am trying to spot it again presuming it won't go too far.

Young blue tit? Being juvenile it might be more curious around other birds and wouldn't have developed the distinct blue markings...

Willow Warbler? The young ones look particularly yellow at this time of year!

Yes. I think you might be correct. I looked at a few photos of one. There is a good chance that is the bird I saw. It had a warbler look about it. Didn't think they would be away from rivers. Me thinking that they are a bird that frequent rivers and streams. Are they common ?

They're found in a diversity of habitats and definitely not tied to wetland habitats the same way Sedge Warblers and Reed Warblers are. We have around 1.4 million adult individuals in ROI each summer.

Any idea where they come from in the summer.
