Could anyone provide approx VRT/admin costs for buying a car up North & importing down here? We're looking to spend €3-4k on a 10(ish) year old car.
Not sure if the saving is worth the hassle.
    Thanks in advance.

Depends on the car tbh. Probably won't be worth your while if you considering a diesel older than 2015 due to NOX tax. Some diesels are at least €1500 on Nox alone before vrt.

Simply won't be worth the hassle. You'd be better off going to merlin auctions and taking the chances there and bringing a mechanic or someone that can give a car the once over with you.

Or go to a garage here and get one with a few months warranty. (you'll pay extra for the peace of mind)

Between VRT, NOX and the time and effort, even if there was a small saving, it would not be worth it for the time and effort

NoX on a 10 year old car would make the car cost more than it would be in the south.

Definitely not worth it with that budget/age. Would be as cheap here tbh. Hawk out the likes of Done-deal for a well minded used one owner car preferably with service history. Much better idea than dodgy overpriced dealer fodder.

I'm looking at possibly importing a 2019 Kia Sportage. Where can I find the Nox emissions on this?

Ask the seller what is states on the V5.

Quick Google only seems to point to the older 1.7 which was 1850 so the newer 1.6 might be cheaper.
