Haggling and finance

So if you're shopping for a car and intend on getting finance rather than bank loan/ cash to purchase the car. Would the dealer be more or less amenable to haggling over the sticker price?

Like on one hand I can see it as nearly being cheeky like saying I will only give you so much for it and then asking them to go get the forms etc to sort the money out for it

But on the other hand they're making a nice few extra quid off the finance over the course of the agreement so why not try get a couple of k off.

    Opinions?

That is not how it works - the finance company pay the dealer for the car and you pay the finance company back with the interest. I’m not sure if dealers get commission on signing people up to finance - but they probably did in the past.

There is always some room for haggling ... but depending on the price, the car, the time etc how much room is a variable.
