Depends on the car and whether your trip/annual mileage warrants a diesel

Diesel still has its place and will continue to do so. Problem as we know everyone was buying diesel regardless of whether it suited their needs or not.

I bought a 2014 diesel recently and I plan to keep it for the foreseeable future. Picked it up at the start of June and have put 7.5k kms on it already. Definitely worth it if you're clocking up the mileage each week like me as a lot of people are commuting to and from work and to avoiding public transport due to the current situation.

I can't see them going anywhere soon as the petrol hybrid alternatives are just too expensive in the second hand market atm.

If you’re buying second hand a diesel is more than likely gonna to be similar priced/cheaper than its petrol equivalent due to supply and demand.

So if you want lower running costs, buy it.
