And give them a good old clean.

Had a few hiccups with the semi automatic the last few days which was unusual, then thought about the amount of rounds I'm after putting through it in the last few weeks and had to laugh.

The bloody thing is so much fun it's addictive, most days I'm averaging between 30-40 rounds, great way to relax.

Here's a before and after, all it needed was a good wipe with a paper towel and she's ateing through the rounds again.

Be careful, depending on the cleaner you run it can pit aluminium or remove bluing.

That arrived during the week but only got a chance to look at it today. It's a small unit but was just able to fit the .22 moderator into it. Gave it 10 minutes in purified water with a small drop of white vinegar, I was expecting the water to be filthy afterwards but it wasn't too bad really, the mod looks like new on the outside so hopefully the inside is as clean. Shook what water I could out of it and have it resting on some kitchen paper to dry out completely.

Is 10 minutes enough for a moderator or should it be left in for longer? I'll probably give it another 20 mins later on with just pure water. It's a nice little toy that I'm looking forward to getting the most out of, have a grubby key in it now as an experiment.

My SAK had 2,000 rounds through it before i cleaned it... well 2,100 rounds 4 boxes of federal bulk crap:D
It suprisingly wasnt that bad didnt turn the water black
10 miniutes should be plenty just oil the moderator down afterwards.
I have a sonic 45 on my centrefire i take that apart to fit it in , does the job

Yeah I've got a Sonic 45 too that will be getting a dip today. Just did 3 spare 10 round magazines in it there now and could see the dirt in the water afterwards so giving them another wash in fresh water.

I ordered an Ultrasonic to clean two A-Tec mods. Was googling what sort of solution to use but now cannot get a definitive answer as to whether or not ultrasonics are safe to use with aluminium.
