    Hi,
Heading west for a few days and thinking of trying a swim . Will have the wetsuit and float etc.
Any recommendations on a safe area to swim for an hour or two?

You can swim in Spanish Point but there can be a strong rip current in various parts of the beach. Maybe talk to the lifeguards before swimming, they will know how bad it is on a particular day.

Kilkee bay is a bit further down the coast but would give you a good mile across.

    White strand is good.
