Blood work - Looking for some advise please

    Hi

    Hoping somebody can advise.

I got some bloods taking last week and they didn't come back great.

    Urea 9.7 mmol/L (Range 2 - 7.5)
    Creatinine 111 umol/L (Range 64-104)
Egfr 68 (I've read online this means stage 2 kidney disease)
    Albumin 52 g/l ( Range 35-50)
    Total Bilirubin 60 umol/L (Range 3.4 - 20.5) *** this one is way off!

This has been an ongoing issue for the last number of years. The creatinine/Egfr levels have flucuated slightly over the last 2 years but not massively

I have been seeing a renal specialist every 6 months but with Covid my appointment keeps getting pushed back. I did get some kidney scans competed a few years ago and they came back ok with no damage shown.

The concern is that i've read online that efgr will reduce with age and if mine goes much lower it will technically be stage 3 kidney disease.

I was never diagnoised as having CKD but was always something I have monitored with my GP in the last 4 years.

My Albumin came back slightly elevated this time too which is new however!.

As for my Bilirubin levels, they always float around the 35 mark but they are really high this time. My doc did say that this is gilberts syndrome which is harmless apparently but appreciate if anybody would have some insight if this could be caused by something else or linked to kidneys

Not looking for medical expert advise, just perhaps somebody on this thread is in a similar position and has been diagnosed accuretly

My white blood cells have come back low too, they are always low everytime i get tested. This has been the case for the past 4 years.

    They are always around the 3.5 - 3.9 x10^9/l mark (Range 4- 11 x10^9/l) & Neutrophils Abs. 1.5 x10^9/l (Range 2 - 7)

in terms of medication, I have an underactive Thryroid and I take 100mg Eltroxin 6 days a week. I am also on testosterone replacement therapy.

Not sure if it's linked to the medication but worth noting that my blood work was the same before I started meds for the above

Also worth noticing, i feel completley find and have no symmptoms. (WHich is weird considering there are quite a few discrepancies in the parameters)

    thanks

    Stop reading medical stuff online.

Get in contact whatever way you can with one of your doctors, ideally whoever is prescribing your medication or whoever sent you for the blood tests and ask their opinion on your results.

Reading medical information online we always see the worst in ourselves. If there’s a 2% chance something bad could happen that tends to be all we see. If you are feeling ok like you say & your doctors aren’t concerned about your blood test results then you are probably doing fine. Contact your doctors & let them decipher the results.

I’ve been taking Eltroxin daily (in various doses) & have been on & off TRT since the mid nineties, along with a dose of other medicines. I’ve seen some weird blood test results over the years but searching for answers from Dr. Google will only drive you crazy & worry you unnecessarily.

thank you, I normally don't get too worried about what I read online, the question really was if anybody had similar experiences.

also unable to get to my specialist at the minute with stupid COVID

TherapyBoy's post is spot on, email/call your specialist transfer results on, doctor google/webmd are not for fact especially in long term, acute or chronic issues
