    Hi, so I'm taking the last week of August off work and with no partner or kids and a family i don't really get on with im looking for ideas of good places to go in Ireland where I won't feel awkward that I'm there on my own.

    This too shall pass.

    In a similar situation myself, was thinking about doing a road trip along the west coast. But I'm a bit concerned it would be a miserable lonely week with such current limited obertunities for socialising.

    Your dates for holidays from work might not be flexible but I was going to suggest waiting till 1st week in Sept as by that stage all schools back(hopefully!) so won't be all families on holidays.

    Hard to ever go wrong in Galway. I've never done it solo but I'm sure it would still be good craic

    Or maybe a mini road trip of the top 3-5 places you always wanted to see in Ireland. 2020 might be the only year you get to do this

    I think it depends on your expense.

    I would love a few days in Monart.

    I think it doesn't really matter where you go if your solo nobody pays attention during the day.

    I would pay more attention to the hotel if your uncomfortable. I would be more inclined to stay in a play you might see more business people stay - I always stay in the Radisson's, Old Ground in Ennis, etc when I work. There will be plenty of people in both the restaurant and in the bar on their own - so noone will pay any attention. The food there is pretty good too...as is the wine.
