Hi all, we are taking up carpets in the ground floor and while all rooms have a concrete floor, one of the rooms is raised slightly with timber floorboards which are quite worn down and surprisingly have some levelling compound on them.

Timber floor looks a bit damp in parts also, does anyone know any specialist who could look at them and advise what best to do? I would like to take them up and expose the concrete floor as we have with the rest of the house and put floor leveling compound but kind of worries what i will expose!

I will post a photo later if i can, house is about 50 years old

Buy a moisture meter, 20€ - Assess The dampness.

Is the floor suspended? If so, are there external vents?

Im getting a dehumidifier today and a moisture meter too which will tell me a lot.

Yes two front rooms are timber suspended, only noticed one vent out the front but that could be shared between the two rooms as its pretty much in the dividing wall between the two rooms
