eglobal - shady practice?

I ordered a phone here for a family member first week of July. The order showed as processing for over 2 weeks. I messaged them to ask what was going on. They didn't reply but I had a refund to my Revolut card. I informed family member who went to shop and got contract phone instead.
Yesterday I get a message from Revolut that my balance has fallen below zero please top up to use card. I check Revolut and it's -200 or so. Eglobal took money back off card. I was not even aware this was possible.
I check eglobal website and phone from July 5th is still showing as processing , live chat not online left a message that phone not needed and please refund, that was last night still waiting to hear back.

Could be genuine mistake or shady practice. Be careful with them.

The money back and forth from your Revolut isn't necessarily an eglobal thing. It happened to me with a Supermacs lunch I bought (i.e. paid with Revolut, money put back into my balance a week later only to be taken again)
I've never used eGlobal before but from what I hear they are a legit company working from China. Quality and speed of delivery seems to depend on what exactly you ordered.

    This too shall pass.

I bought my phone from them in May 2017. No issues, though I didn't use Revolut and the tracking went a bit quiet at one point, iirc. You might have to pester them a bit.

E-Global are famously 50/50 as to how well it works out. Some lads would praise them and others have had bad reports or been stung hard by customs.

It's just a risk to take.

    Wouldn't go near them again

Well the lack of a phone number would put me off . I clicked on the Facebook page and couldn't find a chat there. They don't seem to be replying to messages. I've had no contact since July 5th phone still showing as processing and ive mailed them 3 times.
I mailed them again now saying please refund or acknowledge my communication or I'll have to initiate a charge back which I don't like doing. I understand companies are struggling due to covid19 but some communication would really help .

Bought my last two phones off them.
Very slow to “process” the orders, around 2 weeks if not more but both arrived shortly afterwards. Figure the processing is them getting stock in from abroad.

Also a bit slow to respond to queries but now that I know it takes a while to get the phone I’ll continue to use them as beyond a slow delivery I’ve had no issues.

Thanks all had a reply this morning that they had cancelled my order and a refund will be issued in 5-7 days , assuming the refund comes through I'd imagine they are just slow as others have said. The money coming back off my card 2-3 weeks after it was initially refunded was concerning but may have been a Revolut issue.

eGlobal will take your order even if the phone is not in stock... that why it just says processing, they are awaiting delivery themselves and won't tell you that there is a delay

ordered a oneplus 8 pro off them recently, it took about a month to arrive. I had bought off them a few years previously, the phone arrived after about 3 weeks. Great prices for the phones if you are not in a hurry !!

Quick question, are the phones set up and ready to use in the Irish market or do you need to buy things like a 3 pin charger seperate?

    This too shall pass.

it's not "50/50" and you won't "get stung by customs" as they bring the products in through the EU so the customs "stinging" can't happen.

you could be waiting a while if you're unlucky though if they actually don't have it in stock - but people order for the very good prices.

I've ordered maybe 5 or 6 items from them and got them all within 2 weeks.

Is there a choice available between Chinese, Continental European or UK/Ireland versions available?

    This too shall pass.

you can ask them what plug version you will get.

at the worst you would have to use a plug adaptor.

if it's not the global version of a phone software-wise it will be stated.

if you are unsure ask them

it seems to be all the chinese versions, just with the oxygen OS put on it. Only difference is the box has some Chinese writing on it, the 2 pin charger and it is much cheaper !!

Refund received ok, I don't think they are dodgy just slow and seems they don't have best communication.
