Help on purchasing a 2014 Zetec Fiesta

One thing to be careful of is the version of 1.25 engine it has.

    82PS 0-60 12.9
    60PS 0-60 16.4

Neither are fast, but the 60PS version is a dog. Avoid. I think most of the 2013 onwards 1.25 UK models were the 60PS

If you want a little bit more zip, but want to keep up the year - look at a Suzuki Swift. Even the 1.2 has 95PS and it’s a great all rounder car.

The Fiesta is a great car too, but the downgrading of the engine for emissions ruined it, and in my opinion the higher powered 1.0 ecoboost Fiestas aren’t worth the extra complication.

Thanks Colm, yeah i got it confirmed that its the 82PS. Actually totally forgot about the suzuki swift they are a nice car allright. You mention they are an all rounder so thats good. Just had a look and there doesnt seem to be many out there. If you come across a good example could you please post it? My good example might not be so good lol.

Thanks Colm, the pics dont really do it justice but may be worth a look.

Out of curiosity what do you think of the below Focus? Its from the same garage as the fiesta i posted. Thinking of going for a little bit more power in the 1.6

    Should be grand.
It’s has worse visibility than your own car and is wider. Can’t see how that would make sense as a move.

It’s also 9 years old, I reckon your Fiesta idea makes way more sense.

Ref the power, even though it has 125PS it’s still not fast due to the cars extra weight.

Not a clue I’m afraid. It was one of only a few specced up Swifts on Donedeal!

When you say the Fiesta was flat, do you mean slow?

Was there today for a look at the swift. Place itself seems grand, loads of genuine seeming reviews and plenty of nice cars. Sales guy was sound as a bell as well. ( aren't they always ;-) )

The swift however was a no go - bar some visual signs that it wasn't looked after that well, it also had a weird raspy click sound in any gear around 3000 revs. Not too sure what that's about and the handling of this car was really lovely, but not a risk I'm willing to take.

I have the English reg, didnt do a check on it myself because I'm no longer interested but pm me if ya want it.
