Sadly, John Hume has passed away after a long illness.

He was a political titan who worked his whole political life for peace on this Island. A native of Derry, the home of gerrymandering. Catholics, despite being in a vast majority were denied there rights, both politically and socially.

He was probably the most honest and forthright politician in these islands, and probably, in the world.

May he rest in peace.
