Looking to pick up a caddy or similar in the near future. I'll be insuring it privately and taxing it privately, but my question is, what's the implications? Do the tax bands re emissions apply after 2008 in the same way as a domestic car?
Is it then due an nct rather than a doe?
Is there anywhere I can lookup what the tax might be depending on the reg?

Rates are cc based. Insurance might be tricky.

Still needs CVRT rather than NCT.

    1.6 is €514
    1.9 is €673
    2.0 is €710

I got a 2.0 caddy last year, private tax and insurance, 710 for tax and insurance was cheap enough, €4xx but this year's renewal came in almost double, trouble is there's only 1-2 companies that will do it

Would I be right in thinking you still have to get a commercial policy that has a private use clause as part of it? Also if you are using it privately, how do they calculate a commercial policy?

We have Hilux insured commercial for own goods with FBD.
