Connecting sat box to tv, via scart.

I'm wondering whether anyone has used a HDMI to RGB/Scart adapter. I know they are available, but I'm don't know how effective they are.

A good friend has an old plasma tv, with only scart sockets. I want to fit an enigma 2 satellite box that has only HDMI out. They are happy with the tv but Mrs friend is fed up with multiple remotes and no program guide. However, if the picture quality is pi$$ poor it wouldn't be much of a result.

I've tried a cheap Chinese one from ebay and it did the job fine. Can be powered from the usb port on STB.
