Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It was the NTA who got the Phoenix Park tunnel open to commuters. So sounds a bit odd to suggest they've no interest in Rail. I'd be certain the SHZ was extended by them too.

The issue faced with long distance rail commuting services vs long distance road commuting services, is they won't have to pay for the roads.

It's perhaps premature to talk about reforming the NTA when we haven't really funded the NTA in the first place.

Indeed. They get called the No Trains Authority here whenever someone is unhappy about them not using rail as the answer to all questions.

Their plan for Cork is also reasonably heavy on rail. Just because the Government won't give money to CIE related capital investment isn't the fault of the NTA.

We now have a pro-rail Minister for Transport at least.

    Exactly.

The NTA and CIE take some beating from those who don't like that the railway isn't run their way, or that other projects take precedence over their pet projects.

The issue is fundamental not organisational - money and politics.
