I bought edging shears a few years ago, they would cut anything for a while, and then they basically became useless, unable to cut any sort of lawn edge. I sharpened them several times, to no avail. I was about to buy a new pair, when I had a brainwave. The shears are held together with a nut and bolt ,and it was quite loose, allowing the blades to stay too far apart. I tightened it up, and hey presto, the shears was working perfectly again !! :)
