    Lol neither could i.

    The name is coming from my own ether 25+ years ago.
    Maybe they were invented to keep people off cricket pitches back in the day.

    I saw one of these the other day and thought to myself that you no longer see them, then this comes up. Now my curiosity has been piqued and I would love to know the history of them!
