    Hey i have tried to update my sd card and ita not working and im not very technical. How do i do it easily. Please help
    I have tried several times and im worried now that i have lost maps completely because my infotainment ayatem isnt recognising the sd card now

    I took the sd card out and put it in the laptop. I went onto that vw site and downladed the maps for my discover media but when i copy it over to the sd card it doesnt recognise it. But i never used that 7zip software so maybe thats why??

    You need to transfer the old data somewhere on your laptop, unzip the new download and then put it on the card.

    But be absolute certain to save the original Overall.nds file,
    Save it
    save it somewhere else
    email it to yourself
    save it to cloud,
    THEN
    Once you have done the instructions given by Colm,
    Copy and paste YOUR ORIGINAL overall.nds file to \maps\EEC\EEC_WLD

    and overwrite the new one.
    Save and remove sd card.
    Try it now.

    BUT do not delete your original overall.nds file, Keep this for as long as you keep the car.

    Do i just unzip then using that 7zip? Then open them on 7zip and copy and paste them to the sd card? Sorry im so bad with all of this

    Download the map pack
    Unzip with 7zip to your PC/Laptop

    1) As a reference, open the sd card contents on your PC and note what it looks like inside ( Take a screenshot so as you know what folders are inside for later )

    2) Copy contents of sd card to a folder on your PC

    3) Locate your original OVERALL.nds file and do as I said above, ( This is probably the most important part of the process so make sure you have it save safely.

    4) Copy the contents of your downloaded unzipped maps and paste them in the SD card.

    Go back to your saved OVERALL.nds file and copy it, then paste it into \maps\EEC\EEC_WLD on your sd card

    and overwrite the new one.
    Save and remove sd card
    Try it then.
