Joule Solar issues

    Hi All,

I recently installed a Joule Acapella solar system, 30 tubes and 300L tank. The issues I'm having are around pump control. The kit was supplied with a Grundfos UPM3 hybrid pump and a Deltasol BS/2 HE controller. The installation manual from Joule shows the Pump having two cables (one for power and one for control). The power cable is your usual L, N and E and is straightforward. The control cable in the Joule manual wiring diagram shows two cables and PWM + and PWM -, however the control cable coming from the pump has 3 cables, a brown, a blue and a black. According to the pump manual Brown = PWM Input, Black= PWM Output and Blue = Signal Reference. I have connected the brown to PWM+ and Black to PWM-.
What do I do with the blue cable?
The pump is running, however when i set it to 30% it runs fast and when I set it to 70% it runs slow - I have tried reversing the Brown and Black cables and the pump just runs at 100% all the time, not allowing for control.

    Help please!!! :)

So it turns out that the pump was in the incorrect mode - looks like it was in a mode for UFH rather than solar. Have changed this now and it is working correctly

@paul-2008 How did you change settings on the pump? I have the same setup - with the same problem - and for the life of me I cannot change any settings on the pump using the single control button (checked that the settings lock is disabled (>10s push)). Which setting did you go for?

    Thanks @paul-2008

In the meantime it turned out my pump was wired wrong (pro-installers, right?) and the controller was locking up. Rewired it based on your suggestion, after checking with the manual. Lo-nad-behold it started responding to inputs, and is now setup properly for PWM profile C.
