I've water leaking (pouring) in during heavy rain on front windscreen. I've temporary sealed with silicon. Is window replacement my only solution. Volvo v50.

    I don't have windscreen cover.

    Appreciate replies.

Glass doesn't leak, so unless your screen is cracked and letting in water that way then you have another problem (if it's cracked then of course it needs replacing)

Might help if you explained a bit more where exactly you put the silicone and if it made a difference. You could have leaking seals or a totally different issue like blocked drainage channels.

No crack, water getting in somewhere along the top in the center of windscreen.
Sealed all along the top on the outside.

I think the windscreen is glued in on those, so the glue must have become unstuck. Either through age (if it's the original screen), a badly done replacement at some point, or worst case scenario because the metal frame underneath has rusted.

Either way the windscreen will probably have to come out to fix this.

Had this problem with a V50 myself.

Turned out to be blocked drainage tubes for the sunroof.

I blew them out with an airline & problem solved.
