Fleetwood Mac became very ordinary after Peter Green left.

    Rip

Fleetwood Mac commercially not remembered as been founded by him but that version was amazing. Pity I started listening to them so late

A troubled soul but that may have been part of the reason he was such a great bluesman. Going to give all 25 fantastic minutes of live Rattlesnake Shake an airing later over a couple of cold beers. And both his and Gary Moores versions of Need Your Love So Bad. RIP.

A sad day, RIP. I was first introduced to the Green era FM when I watched a documentary called Rock Family Trees in 1995. A great watch.

Since then I like both the Green era and Buckingham/Nicks era . which is better - The Green Manalishi or Go Your Own Way. Man of The World or I'm So Afraid. And so on, there was great work in both eras

This is a cover version of a BB King song.

Both good. There was also that period in the early seventies where the remaining original members soldiered on followed by the brief Bob Welsh era. All had their moments but Peter Green was special. Had some brilliant solo stuff as well.

RIP Peter Green, I must confess I've always confused Peter with Syd Barrett of the Floyd, both extremely talented, both got messed up with drugs.....

Both bands went onto bigger and better things (chart wise) after they left their bands.

Yeah Fleetwood Mac did sell a ton of albums from late 70s and beyond but their only UK No.1 was Albatross and their 3 biggest hits were with Peter. So there was considerable commercial success, just he didnt seem especially moved by it.

Is it true that Fleetwood Mac sold more records in 1969 in the UK than either The Beatles or The Stones?
